New Year Resolutions – Crap or Conviction?

It is the time of the year again for celebrations, parties and most significantly for many people, New Year resolutions. Some people make it to break it, some just don’t care much about it and some honour it like a religion.

I just have one question, why must one make resolutions on the New Year? Well, it is the general consensus that these resolutions are made based on reflections of one’s life in the year that has past. The resolutions are meant to enhance your life in the new coming year. I have just one problem with that reasoning, don’t we all count our life’s years from our date of birth?

So, unless your birthday is on the last day of the year, then it really doesn’t make much sense to make resolutions based on the ‘one year’ of your life. Instead, it should be ‘Birthday Resolutions’ and not ‘New Year Resolutions’!

That’s just my take on this matter.

Here’s to everyone reading this, wishing all a Happy New Year and enjoy breaking your New Year resolutions.
